An All Progressives Congress, APC, strongman from Aboh Mbaise local government, Frank Obiuche has thrown his support behind the zoning arrangements for the next governor of Imo State, Silvernews.com.ng reports.
He lauded Governor Hope Uzodinma for deeming it necessary to handover power to an Owerri zone individual noting that the zone has not had the fair share of ruling the State.
He called on youths in Owerri zone to rise up and ensure the right candidate is chosen that will continue from the developmental strides of Governor Uzodinma.
“Concerning the equity that the governor had announced before his re-election that after Orlu zone it has to be Owerri zone, it’s a good thing that happens at the right time.
“The equity will bring peace and stability in Imo State. Orlu zone has gone for 24 years at the expiration of this second term and Okigwe zone has done that too. Owerri zone has not have fair share of governorship rule in the State.
“We should equally have our own share but it has to be good govenence. I believe the governor should bring someone who will sustain the development he has started in the State. He should look down and make a lot of consultations and mostly from the youth angle.
“It’s not a matter of stakeholders. It has to be someone that has character and integrity. It’s not anybody that can come and take over because he is from Owerri zone. The equity came at the right time. Owerri zone should come to make sure we have a standard bearer that will have the mandate of the people and lead by example.”
