The Executive Director of Fidelity Bank, Sir Stanley Amuchie has explained the significance of Synod to the Anglican church, Silvernews.com.ng reports.
He made the explanation during the 2024 Synod celebration of the Anglican Church of Mbaise last Sunday.
According to him; “Synod is like the annual general meeting of the Anglican church. It is a time we take stock of what happened within the year and plan for the next year. Both at the spiritual and infrastructural level. It is also an opportunity for the church to seek financial support to do projects.
“The Synod affords the church the opportunity to sit back and have a retreat towards propagating the gospel. At the centre of all our activities is spirituality. Our existence derives from God and there is nothing you can do without God sanctioning the work.
“For me, we need to do things with God at the centre of everything. Part of what makes you a complete human being is that there is a spiritual and physical part. That spirituality is important because we believe all that we do, there is a supreme being out there directs our thoughts and guides us.
“We must continue to honour him and give him the credit that he is the one that directs everything that we do in our lives.”
Speaking on giving to the House of the Lord, Amuchie, who is known to be a cheerful giver to people around him and the church in particular, encouraged others to imbibe the act of giving.
“Everything you have belongs to him. God doesn’t need you to give to him because he is the owner of even you and what you give. Most of the things we have today, he has placed it in my heart to be able to use for the propagation of the gospel.
“Giving is a good thing that we must all take seriously because you should be seen to always work in his vineyard as he works in us. If you look at it from that angle, you see that there is a lot of blessings that comes from it.
“Most people have not come into the positives that comes to giving in the House of the Lord but there are a lot of blessings attached to it. You are not giving to any Pastor but giving to the House of the Lord. You will lose nothing in supporting the work of the Lord. It is something that we should all encourage everyone to do.”
