Defending champions Dino SC made an impressive start in the 19th edition of the Lagos Supremacy Cup on Wednesday morning.

 

Ikorodu City, Beyond Limits Football Academy, Seamoriow, and 36 Lion also secured victories as the tournament kicked off to an enthusiastic crowd, who enjoyed a day filled with exciting matches at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena.

 

In a matchup featuring familiar opponents, Dino SC claimed bragging rights over 36 Lion with a 2-0 win.

 

Amos Amuzu contributed one of the goals for Dino SC, while Seun Lawal of Lion missed a penalty opportunity.

 

In the second match, the reigning Viareggio Cup champions Beyond Limits Football Academy narrowly defeated Seamoriow 1-0, with Akinoche Merveille scoring the decisive goal, assisted by Meliga Promise.

 

Earlier, Meliga had set up Merveille in the 51st minute, but the striker’s shot hit the woodwork.

 

The third match of the day was filled with drama and intrigue.

 

Ikorodu City showcased their offensive prowess by securing a commanding 3-0 victory against Real Sapphire FC.

 

Wisdom Ubani, a former striker for the Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles, achieved an impressive hat trick.

 

Adam Ismail contributed with two goals, while Abidemi Amole added another to create an exciting atmosphere at the Waterfront.

 

The Oga Boys sealed their win late in the match with a composed finish from Malik Musa.

 

In a separate match, FC Bethel and Charlessann FC played to a goalless draw.

 

During the second round of matches, Dino SC appeared set for another victory, but Broad City rallied to earn a 2-2 draw.

 

Dino took an early lead when Samuel Asogbon capitalized on an error by Broad City goalkeeper Ibrahim Raman. However, the response came swiftly in the 35th minute when winger Uzoma Gerald found the net, much to his team’s delight.

 

Dino regained the lead with a stunning goal from Zakari Haruna, who curled a shot into the top right corner.

 

Broad City equalized through Badmus Ahmed, resulting in a thrilling match that ended in a draw.

 

In other news, Seamoriow bounced back from their defeat to Beyond Limits with a 2-1 win over MS Success FC.

 

36 Lion triumphed over a resilient Real Sapphire with a 2-0 scoreline.

 

The wounded Lion made a strong statement in the 35th minute when Cisse Mamady delivered a precise cross into the penalty area, which Alex John converted with a well-placed header.

 

Benin Republic international Samson Akinyoola showcased his skill by dribbling past his defender and the goalkeeper before scoring the second goal.
