History was made yesterday as the much anticipated Aladimma Eziala Ogwu; which hitherto was not functional, came to be again. Our serene and peaceful community was animated, enlivened, electrified, and convivial as men and women, old and young, came out in their numbers to witness the official opening of a new Aladimma Eziala ogwu after almost a decade.
Plethora of our elders, titled men and women, opinion moulders and the youths were all on ground to see for themselves the beginning of a new era with the brand new Aladimma Eziala Ogwu.
While making his speech, the cerebral Nze Lawrence Ukachi went down memory lane, where he recalled the roles some of our notable Sons and Daughters played to make sure that we have a peaceful Community and a functional Aladimma. In particular, he thanked profusely AVM Uche Nwagwu, a young man who is inexorably passionate to help his people and Hon. Barr. Mrs Ogechi Njoku-Ehirim for the key and strategic roles they played in this regard.
He poured encomium on those committed elders, titled men, women, and youths who played significant roles and worked tirelessly with painstaking due diligence to see to the restoration of Aladimma Eziala Ogwu. He advised the Aladimma Executive to focus on Culture, tradition, and other customary-related issues while EDO will take charge of development- related matters in order to have a seamless and united front going forward.
According to him, peace is priceless. He therefore enjoined all and sundry to embrace it for a more prosperous and egalitarian Eziala Ogwu going forward.
While speaking, Mr. Peter Ekeh advised Nze Sir Ugochukwu Nwachukwu-Udoaku’s led team to jettison the Counsel of Ahitophel, sycophants, serial liars, and rumour peddlers as he superintends over the affairs of Aladimma Eziala Ogwu. Going forward, he charged him to be focused and run an all-inclusive administration devoid of parochial and primordial sentiments where the interest of all Eziala Ogwu Sons and Daughters will be protected at all times.
Finally, he urged him and his team to be impartial, fair, just, sincere, frugal in finance, and to live above board as NDE ISI ALADIMMA so as to restore our cultural values and tradition for the common good of all.
Plethora of other speakers including High Chief Ezinna Sir C.C Nwachukwu, Mr. Ugochukwu Nwachukwu-Agbada, Mr. Paschal Ahatanke etc. corroborated what Nze Lawrence Ukachi (Kpakpando) and Mr. Peter Ekeh said on the need to sustain peace, unity, love, understanding, and for a more united Aladimma Eziala Ogwu of our dream.
In his acceptance speech, the elated Nze Sir Ugochukwu Nwachukwu-Udoaku KSJI thanked the good people of Eziala Ogwu for the confidence and trust reposed on him to pilot the affairs of Aladimma Eziala Ogwu at this time and season. According to him, his coming on board at a time like this, was not serendipity; but was divinely orchestrated by God for a special purpose; which is for the restoration of our lost glory as a people and making straight our chequered history.
According to him, he belongs to everybody and he is for nobody. He used the opportunity to call all aggrieved persons and groups to embrace peace that has been restored in Eziala Ogwu. In his words, we must leave good legacies for our children and generations yet unborn.
Going further, he said that no single individual or group is bigger than the whole Eziala Ogwu people put together. Based on this, he proscribed factions in Eziala Ogwu forthwith; insisting that Eziala Ogwu is now one united and indivisible Community.
Finally, he promised to be committed, dutiful, focused, unbiased at all times in the discharge of his duties. Above all, he assured us that he will be fair and just to all manner of people for the overall interest of all of us.
Thanks equally went to the EDO Executive led by Mr. Obinna Onyenemerem for the strategic roles they played in the actualization of a new Aladimma Eziala Ogwu.
I therefore enjoin all Eziala Ogwu Sons and Daughters at home and in the Diaspora to be advocates of peace and unity. The Aladimma Eziala Ogwu which we yearned and clamoured for over the years is here. It is in our hands to sustain it as a people. Let us avoid incendiary remarks and unnecessary tirades especially on EDO WhatsApp platform.
For those men, women and youths who dedicated their time, resources and energy to see to the actualization of this ALADIMMA-PROJECT, history and posterity will be fair and just to you at the effluxion of time.
