A Christian cleric, Austin Ekechi and General Overseer of Redeemed People’s Mission in Ngor-Okpala Imo State has called on well-meaning Nigerians to engage in youth-friendly programmes to end social vices.

He stated this after organising a programme for youths in his church saying that most youths are wasting their talents without any meaningful engagements.

“It was very great and awesome. These are one of the things in my life that I have been dreaming in my life just to package the youths and bring them now that they are still at the tender age so that we can be able to groom them and become useful to themselves and the nation at large.

“Most of the youths are wasting their talents on the streets. I said that I must bring them out of the streets and bring them into limelight. So many people today all over the world, some of them are rejected youths but some good individuals picked them, formed them, packaged them and today many of us are celebrating those youths.

“You have to give back to God what belongs to God by investing in the kingdom of God. You have so many diverse ways to invest in the things of God, either by teaching those youths the scripture or by promoting the work of God. Majority of the problems we are having in the society were not being picked on time. If they understand the scriptures very well, most of the social vices we are having would have been to a bearest minimum.”
