Referees on duty this weekend for the resumption of the second half of the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, have been told to use their decisions on the field of play show testimony of the good job of the technical and physical fitness instructors during the just concluded Mid Season Training program.
President of the Nigeria Referees Association, NRA, Otunba Tade Azeez gave the charge while marking the end of the exercise in Abuja.
According to Tade, the essence of the program organised by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, through the Referees Committe of the Federation is to ensure that match officials get abreast with latest refereeing techniques and translate same on the field of play.
The NRA President, further informed the referees that the association is concerned about the on and off the field conducts of its members to ensure they are in concomitant with the laws of the game and competition rules.
One of the Instructions who tutored the referees in Abuja during the mid season excercise, Barr Cecilia Ogbuji of Rivers State council will be on the stands to watch how Ebonyi based Sebastin Onwe alongside Jamilu Hamisu and Imuetinyan Ikponwonsa will handle the Sunshine vs Plateau match, as the Assessor while a physical fitness test Instructor, Abraham Zakowi, (FIFA rtd), will take charge of the refereeing team led by Lagos based Ridwan Ayeni comprising Sunday Iboho and Aminu Salihu.
In Lagos, a seasoned arbiter and soldier, Markus Bwashi of Bauchi to be assessed a retired premier league referee of the FCT, Friday Awugo will be at the centre of the MFM vs Heartland match as Nassarawa based Abdulahi Idris and Ibrahim Tijani of Katsina hold flags on the lines as Assistant Referees 1 and 2 respectively.
