Former Nigeria International footballer Mr Ifeanyi Ekwueme has been appointed the football administrator of Aboh Mbaise Local government area of Imo state and will be assisted by Kennedy Onwunali,
The Chairman Imo state football association Mr Amanze Uchegbulam in a brief ceremony at the Football Association office last weekend in Owerri said bringing Mr Ifeanyi Ekwueme into the running of football in the local government will help in the rebranding of football in Aboh Mbaise local government.
The football Administion in Imo state has in the lat few years embarked on football development in the state and has began to bear good fruit with teams from the state gaining promotion to verious division of the Nigeria football scene last football season in the country.
Sir Amanze Uchegbulam urged Mr Ifeanyi and his assistant Mr Kennedy Onwunali to work hard so they can return football in the local government to what it was in the past expecialy in the area of organizing competition and identifying talented footballers in the local government which ranks among the best in talent Discovery in the state.
Mr Ifeanyi Ekwueme will take over from Chief Chiemenam who dropped from the position due to health reasons , Meanwhile the Football house has extended her milk of kindness to Chief Chiemenam who will undergo surgery soon. Standing by him in his hour of need as the Chairman he presented a check to FA secretary Mr Goddi Ndudi for Chief Chiemenam who could not make it to the office because of ill health.
