Sudanese Chargé d’Affaires (CDA), to Nigeria Mr Mohammed Arbab said that the CAF Champions League game between Rivers United and Al Hilal last weekend in Port Harcourt would have been won by the visiting side and addmitted that it was a nice outing.
He said “the team played a very technical game, we should have won the match but you know according to circumstances and conditions you know is first league game, so even your team has played a very good match, we hope that the next match will be taking place in Cairo.
As a Sudanese we wish our team good luck and as for Rivers united, its a friendly match, you know Sudan and Nigeria are like brothers, we have good relationship between the two countries.
And we are engaged in several bilateral issues that are common to us as leading countries in Africa and Sports is one of such way to demonstrate once more that we are working together for the progress of Africa in all fronts as demonstrated here.
Rivers United is a very compact team, they keep attacking till they get their goal. we expect a more open game in Egypt in the return leg ,” he conclded.
The second leg takes place in Suez stadium by 7pm Nigeria time with the first leg end 1-1
