The Enugu state Chairman of the Taekwondo Association CSP Ebere Amaraizu has applauded the decision of the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation (NTF) for the holding of South East Taekwondo Poomse Championship for under 18 in Enugu as a boost to already existing activity of the POCACOV/Taekwondo kiddies program in Enugu and that which will help to promote,deepen Taekwondo activities and practice within Enugu ,south east and in the entire country.He made this known to the newsmen in Enugu on 24/6/2021 while reacting on the gains of the upcoming Taekwondo Under 18 competition slated to take place at the indoor Sports complex of the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium Enugu beginning from 21st August to 23rd August,2021.According to him,the Enugu state Taekwondo Association is pleased with the honour for the south East Poomse Under 18 Taekwondo Championship of the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation (NTF) to be hosted in Enugu .We are grateful to the Technical committee members of the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation especially our Technical Director,Chika Chukwumerije on their choice of Enugu for the exercise.
Nigeria Taekwondo Federation (NTF) will immediately after Tokyo Olympic hold south East Taekwondo Poomse for under 18 in Enugu which will feature Black Belt Kukkuwon Grading and also Taekwondo National Referee Course.South East states of Abia,Anambra,Imo,Ebonyi,Enugu will participate with their Athletes,
The South East Taekwondo under 18 Poomse Competition will feature the following categories A,Kiddies 5-10 years,B,Cadets 11-14 years and C, Juniors 15-17 years in the following events Poomse individual kiddies female,poomse individual kiddies male,Poomse individual Cadets Female,Poomse individual Cadets male,Poomse Individual Juniors Female and Poomse Individual Juniors Male.
Speaking further,Amaraizu who also is the National Coordinator of the Nigeria Police Force community driven and Public Relations Program called Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices(POCACOV) described the move by the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation (NTF) as a welcomed one which will aid in widening stakeholders participation and involvement in helping the young minds to enlist interest in the game and that way imbibe the tenets of Taekwondo which has to do with integrity,modesty,indomitable spirit,perseverance,self control,survival skills,hard work amongst others for a greater society.The Tenets and benefits of Taekwondo brought in the Partnership of POCACOV/Taekwondo Activities for value reorientation and also using the instrumentality of Taekwondo as it affects survival/life coping skills for the girl/boy child.
It is our belief that more of Teakwondo Olympian like our Technical Director Chika Chukwumerije and Elizabeth Anyanacho amongst others.It is going to be a platform of self discovery.
