Imo NUJ honours Gov,s appointee

The Nigerian Union of Journalists, (NUJ), Imo State Council, has honoured the Special Adviser to the Governor on Chieftaincy and Local Government Affairs, Chief Mrs.Rubby Emele with award as the Most Outstanding Media Friendly Personality of The Year.
Presenting the plague to the SA, the chairman of NUJ, Imo State Council, Chief Chris Akaraonye said that NUJ award is not usually given out to people.
He said that the resolve to present the award to Mrs. Emele was born out of long monitoring of her activities as the former Local Government Chairman of Isiala Mbano LGA, ALGON chairman Imo State, and women mobilizer in Imo State.
While congratulating the SA, Chief Akaraonye informed her about the resolve of NUJ to embark on tour to the 27 Local Government Areas in the state.
He said that the whole essence of the your us to afford the journalists in the state the opportunity to see some of the developments strides and other activities going on in the councils.
The chairman while describing the SA as exceptional appointee, commended her for all her assistance and support to both NUJ and journalists in the stste
He said: “the leadership of NUJ is aware of your assistance and support to journalists in the state and we have not forgotten that. We are highly please with that and we urged you to keep it on”.
Responding, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Chietancy Affairs, Chief. Mrs.Rubby Emele thanked the NUJ for the honour done to her with the award.
He reminded the media over their enomouse roll to play in the propagation of the activities of the state, appealing to them to continue to do their best for the good of the State.
While commending the state Governor for providing an enabling environment to serve the state, said that he means well and he is committed to changing the narrative.
She said that since the present administration came on board, a lot has been done to revive the Local Government Areas in the state to make them effective and vibrant in the day to day discharge of their duties.
She revealed that government have provided bags of fertilizers at no cost to farmers in the stste, a measure taken to ensure food sufficiency in the State.
Mrs.Emele disclosed of on going massive road rehabilitation in all parts of the state adding that Health sector are also receiving serious attention to ensure effective service delievery to the people.
She stated the resolve of the government to endure drastic reduction in unemployment in the state through encoyragement to enterpreneurship in the state.
