The Chief Executive Officer of World Best Pharmaceutical, Mr. Anderson Anyiam, has congratulated Kun Khalifat FC on their historic promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL). Anyiam, a former Ebede FC midfielder and member of the Owerri Fitness Sports Club, described the feat as a major breakthrough for the team and a proud moment for the state.

He commended the players, coaches, and management for their hard work and resilience in achieving the top-flight status. According to him, the promotion is a reward for the club’s consistency and determination to succeed against all odds.

While urging Kun Khalifat FC to stay focused ahead of the NPFL season, Anyiam charged them to maintain the same winning mentality and strive to make the state proud on the national stage. “This is just the beginning of a greater journey,” he said.

The  Rangers international Football Club Foundation (RIFC FOUNDATION) has concluded modalities for the smooth implementations of its community based activity TAGGED  “Mentor Me” in partnership with Cope and Live Mental Health Awareness Foundation/Coli Mental Health Academy ,SilverNews Communications ,Campus technology life initiative (CTLI) amongst others.

According to the chairman Rangers international Football Club Foundation Coach Ebere Amaraizu ,the essence of the activity is to intentionally engage with younger minds in the community and strenghten framewok that will enable them to see their potentials and be able to unlock IT for sustainable development.

He maintained that studies has shown that low self esteem amongst younger minds is making them to loose sight of  potentials in them and lack  confidence and at times seeking to live a life of validations ,peoples pleasing as well as leaving some other persons personality.

Low Self Esteem also brings about joining of groups which may later hunt them .Low self esteem also motivate offending and re-offending including the abuse of substance and drug.

The aim of the engagement which begins in Trans Ekulu community Enugu State on 11/7/2025 by 3pm local time  is to engage intentionally with younger minds and exposing them to various life changing  framewok through psycho-education and other meaningful measures to enable them realize whom they are ,their potentials and how to unlock it.It will also enable them to overcome issues around low self esteem by also enabling them to understand how they can  transform their fears ,worries ,anxieties and other struggle history to strength and using it to elevate themselves .Low self esteem is a stopper and a destroyer because it affects the emotional and mental framework of our younger minds.Their inability to see things critically and make sound choices and decisions are affected.Low self esteem make them to doubt themselves and their capabilities.

Silversports FC have crashed out of the ongoing Imo Super League after a narrow 0-1 defeat to Malick Pro FC in their second group game of the flagship competition for club owners in Imo State. The Mbaise-based side, renowned for their attractive brand of football, gave a spirited performance throughout the tournament despite their early exit.

In their opening fixture, Silversports FC suffered a 2-1 loss to Campos FC after being reduced to ten men, but still managed to impress fans with their resilience. The team has now shifted focus to their planned scouting tour of the South East region, which kicks off immediately after their final fixture in the competition.

Meanwhile, the race for the knockout stages heats up as Campos FC became the first team to qualify following a hard-fought 1-0 win over Ravens. Giant Brillers, Acquire FA, and Blacksalt have also secured their places in the next round, promising more exciting action as the tournament progresses.

The city of Owerri is set to host one of the most exciting junior tennis events of the year—the Chief Kingsley Uduh Junior Tennis Classics 2025—from July 31st to August 2nd at the Standard Tennis Development Club, Dan Anyiam Sports Complex, Wetheral Road.

This competition, proudly supported by philanthropist and sports enthusiast Chief Kingsley Uduh, is geared toward identifying and nurturing Nigeria’s next generation of tennis stars.

The tournament is open to both boys and girls in the following categories:

Boys: Under 16, Under 14, and Under 12

Girls: Under 16 and Under 14

Organizers say the event will not only showcase young talent but also promote discipline, sportsmanship, and personal development through sport.

Group leaders Nigeria will fancy their chances of scooping the three points when they take on Botswana in Casablanca on Thursday, in their second match of the determined campaign to win a 10th Women Africa Cup of Nations title.

The Super Falcons wasted little sweat in dispatching Tunisia’s senior girls 3-0 in their first match of the campaign, and will book an early slot in the quarter finals if they collect another three points against the Southern Africans at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium, at a game starting by 8pm.
