The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) South East Zone has extended warm congratulations to Kun Khalifat FC and its proprietor, Mr. Micheal Ahamefule, on the club’s landmark promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
In a statement jointly signed by the association’s Vice President, Mr. Ikemefuna Asika, and Secretary, Mr. Kennedy Onwunali, SWAN South East Zone described the feat as unprecedented in Nigerian football history, noting that Kun Khalifat FC has become the first club in the country to secure NPFL promotion just five years after its formation.
“This achievement is a testament to the vision, dedication, and hard work of the club’s management, players, and technical crew. It is a historic moment not just for Kun Khalifat FC but also for football development in the South East and Nigeria as a whole,” the statement read.
The association commended the team for raising the bar and setting a new record in the Nigerian football landscape. “We urge Kun Khalifat FC to remain focused and continue striving for excellence as they prepare to compete among the elite clubs in the NPFL,” SWAN stated.
