Heartland FC is set to resume for the upcoming football season on Monday, July 21st, 2025, at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.

According to a press statement signed by the club’s Team Manager, Mmaduabuchi Osuorji, acting on the instructions of team’s Technical Manager, Emmanuel Amuneke, all players, officials, and members of the technical crew are expected to report by 7:00 AM.

The new season will usher in a renewed culture at the club, with discipline, promptness, dedication and professionalism emphasized as key values for the Heartland FC family moving forward.

Imeka Oboama, Nguru-Nwenkwo Autonomous Community in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State came alive recently as former Iwuanyanwu Nationale player, Engineer Chinedu Declan Obiajunwa, commissioned a rural electrification project for the people of Umuimeka. The UK-based ex-footballer, fondly called “King of Mario” by his admirers, described the gesture as part of his commitment to bringing development and light to his community.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Engineer Obiajunwa urged parents to care for their children and invest in their future. He reflected on his humble beginnings and numerous attempts over the years to give back to his people, emphasizing that he would never regret channeling his resources to support the development of Imeka Oboama, Nguru-Nwenkwo Autonomous Community, and Nigeria at large.

Speaking further, the father of the former footballer elder Samuel Obiajuwa expressed delight that his son has carried on the family’s legacy of community service, which the Obiajunwa family has been known for over the centuries. The retired public servant, alongside his younger brother—also a retired public servant—urged the people of Oboama Nguru to remain united and work together for the development of the area.

The 2024/2025 Lagos State League Super 4 kicked off with great enthusiasm at the Legacy Pitch inside the main bowl of the National Stadium on Tuesday.

National Association of Nigerian Professional Footballers (NANPF) and D&B Sports Management has Signed Strategic Partnership Agreement to Commercialize and Transform Nigerian Players Welfare

Abuja, Nigeria , July 11, 2025 In a landmark move aimed at empowering Nigerian footballers and transforming the country’s player welfare system, the National Association of Nigerian Professional Footballers (NANPF) has entered into a strategic partnership with D&B Sports Management, led by international sports consultant Benedict Eni.

The agreement, officially signed this week, marks a significant turning point for the Union as it looks to modernize its operations, introduce commercial frameworks, and implement international best practices in player representation, welfare, and financial accountability.

“This is not just a partnership, it’s a strategic alignment for the future of Nigerian footballers,” said Benedict Eni, CEO of D&B Sports Management. “We are proud to be working with the Union to build a transparent, digitally driven ecosystem that prioritizes players’ rights and unlocks commercial value.”

Under the agreement, the parties have jointly established a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to serve as the exclusive platform for managing all sponsorship, endorsements, welfare contributions, and other financial incentives for Union members.

D&B Sports Management will serve as the Union’s lead advisor on commercialization, legal structuring, branding, and strategic growth.

Key components of the partnership include:
