Team Nigeria athletes preparing for the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Aberdeen, Scotland, have received their camp allowances in full, with sprint sensation Favour Ashe commending the National Sports Commission (NSC) for its outstanding welfare package.

Speaking from the team’s training camp, Ashe, fondly referred to as “Nigeria’s Nightmare” by athletics enthusiasts for his explosive speed on the track, praised the NSC for providing world-class facilities, quality accommodation, and a well-balanced diet for the athletes.

“The camp has been excellent. Our allowances have been paid in full, the facilities are world-class, and the feeding is of a very high standard. The National Sports Commission has done a fantastic job in ensuring we have everything we need to prepare for the Commonwealth Games,” Ashe said.

The National Sports Commission, under the leadership of Chairman Shehu Dikko and Director General Hon. Bukola Olopade, has continued to prioritize athletes’ welfare, creating an environment that allows Team

Nigeria to focus fully on training and delivering podium performances in Glasgow. The positive atmosphere in camp has further boosted confidence among the athletes as they intensify preparations for the Games, with hopes of bringing glory to Nigeria.
