History has once again been made in the Federal Fire Service as ACGF Okidi Ijeoma has been elevated to the rank of Deputy Controller General of Fire, becoming the first woman in the history of the Service to attain the position.
Okidi Ijeoma has consistently broken barriers in her career. She was the first female Controller in the Service, the first female Assistant Controller General, and has now achieved another milestone as the first female Deputy Controller General.
Her leadership and contributions remain well remembered in Imo and Abia States, where she left remarkable legacies. Described as “an Esther” in her service, she redefined operations at FedFire Owerri and gave the command a new image.
Friends, colleagues, and well-wishers have attributed her rise to the grace of God, stressing that her journey has been marked by faith, resilience, and service to humanity.
As she assumes her new role, many have prayed for God to grant her wisdom, strength, and vision to support the Controller General of Fire in lifting the Service to greater heights.
