Nwachukwu-Udaku, Nwoga, Others Bag International Peace Awards in Imo

 

 

Rev. Fr. Dr .Ben Nwachukwu-Udaku and Dr. Kachi Nwoga were among prominent Nigerians honoured with international peace awards at the Imo State Global Peace Inauguration and Ambassadorial Award Ceremony.

 

The event, organised by the Global Peace Building Network (GPBNet) in collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Educational Practitioners, United Kingdom (CIEPUK), was held in Owerri with the theme “Building Bridges of Peace in a Divided World: Fostering Unity, Dialogue, and Reconciliation.”

 

Traditional rulers, religious leaders, government officials, community stakeholders and international peace advocates attended the ceremony, which featured cultural performances, speeches, goodwill messages and the inauguration of GPBNet in Imo State.

 

National Coordinator of GPBNet, Amb. Dr. Kelechi Anaele, in her address, urged Nigerians to embrace justice, tolerance and dialogue in promoting peace. She said peace must be built on mutual respect and harmony, not just the absence of war.

 

Other award recipients included Amb. Comr. Ifeanyi Nwaguma, Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Imo State Council; Comr. Amb. Ezenwa Adiukwu, Vice President, NUJ South East; Apostle Uche Ogbujah and his wife, Pastor Nkechi Ogbujah; and Comr. Kennedy Onwunali, among others.

 

Closing the event, Amb. Dr. Regina thanked participants and emphasised the need to build peace from homes and communities before it can spread to the nation. She prayed for lasting peace in Imo State and Nigeria.
