The Council of Traditional Rulers in Mbaise has conferred the uncommon and prestigious title of “Ugwumba 1 of Mbaise” on Chief Amarachi Kingsley Ogu.
The colourful event took place on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at the palace of the Chairman of Mbaise Council of Traditional Rulers, HRM Eze Leo Nwokocha, with monarchs from Aboh, Ahiazu and Ezinihitte in attendance.
Chief Ogu, a native of Lude, Ahiara Autonomous Community, was honoured for his philanthropy, leadership qualities and consistent support for the welfare of Mbaise people both at home and abroad.
The traditional ruler of Lude, HRH Eze Cyril Uwaoma, personally read the citation of Chief Ogu, describing him as a man whose life of service and generosity has touched countless lives.
With the title of Ugwumba 1 of Mbaise, the traditional rulers affirmed their confidence in Chief Ogu as a shining example of dedication to his people and prayed for God’s continued guidance in his service to humanity.
