Aladima Eziala Ogwu Community Bans Hard Drug Trade, Designates Central Market for Iron Dealers

By Silvernews

Aladima Eziala Ogwu, in Nguru Nwenkwo Ogwu Autonomous Community, Aboh Mbaise, has formally announced a ban on the sale and distribution of hard drugs within the community. In a bid to maintain security and uphold communal values, the leadership also designated a central location where iron traders are to conduct business.

The announcement was made during a recent Aladima Eziala gathering, where the community chairman, Nze Ugochukwu Nwachukwu-Udoaku, emphasized the urgent need for vigilance. He called on all Awurawu (kindred leaders) in Eziala Ogwu to take responsibility for identifying and exposing any drug dealers within their jurisdictions.

“Any Awurawu who fails to report or take action against drug dealers in their kindred will be held accountable for the consequences of such illegal activities,” Nze Nwachukwu-Udoaku warned.

In response to growing security concerns raised by members of Eziala Ogwu both at home and in the diaspora, the community has also taken steps to streamline and secure iron trading. Iron traders and buyers have been advised to assemble their goods at the community square, where all transactions will now take place. This move, the leadership says, will facilitate better business practices and enhance community safety.

The community leadership reiterated its commitment to a drug-free and economically vibrant Eziala Ogwu and urged all residents to support these initiatives.
