The Naze Millionaires target first season’s win against Chanji Boys
Heartland FC will welcome Katsina United to the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri on Sunday with their sights fixed on earning their first victory of the season in the ongoing 2024-25 Nigeria Premier Football League season.
The Naze Millionaires have played two games this season against Enyimba and Rivers United which ended in identical 3-1 losses but the Owerri side have stepped up their build up to the game and are poised to go all out for the three points against the Chanji Boys.
Owerri fans made the team’s first home fixture with the People’s Elephant electrifying and special with the way they filled the Dan Anyiam Stadium stands in figures never witnessed for a long time at the beautiful edifice. It was unfortunate the game ended the way it was in defeat.
Heartland FC under new Technical Manager, Emmanuel Amuneke is experiencing a rebirth and departure from the norm. Even though the team had lost both games played thus far in the league this term, purists pointed out some encouraging stats that should start manifesting from this Sunday’s home game with Katsina United and the subsequent games.
The Scientific Boys will need their fans back again at the stands on Sunday to recreate the atmosphere witnessed on September 8th, 2024 against Enyimba but this term around in expectations of the club’s first maximum points of the season. The players and the technical crew know what is at stake and a lot have gone into the preparations for the visit of the Chanji Boys.
Heartland players complemented by hard working technical crew and other officials have trained better and harder for this fixture and only the three points will suffice at the end of the 90 minutes on Sunday.
As usual Amuneke will have a blend of experienced and the young players to call upon ahead of the fixture and those that have been saddled with the playing responsibilities are expected to put in their extra commitments and justification to be selected again in subsequent games.
Speaking ahead of the game, Technical Manager, Emmanuel Amuneke said he wants a team that shows the hunger, eagerness, and desire to play for the club badge adding that all hands must be on deck for the club to achieve set objectives in the ongoing season.
He said the players must step up their performance to continue to have the fans support and that getting a win on Sunday is non- negotiable as they look to bounce back from a poor start to the season.

Katsina United secured a 1-1 draw in Owerri last season in the first round through Michael Okoro Ibe’s second half equaliser and it was the same outcome in the return leg in Katsina in the second stanza with the Chanji Boys needing a stoppage time penalty kick to force Heartland FC to a draw before their fans.Heartland
