The Chairman, Rangers International Football Club Foundation (RIFC FOUNDATION), Ebere Amaraizu has called for more voluntary action with strong coalitions in order to reduce waste pollution to preserve a clean and healthy environment.
He made this known while speaking on the essence of United Nations World Clean Up Day marked on 20th September, 2024 being an annual global social waste problem including the problem of marine debris.
According to Amaraizu, impact of littering in the city then to our river,ocean cannot be overemphasized hence for more voluntary actions with strong coalitions ,mobilizations to reduce waste pollution and preserve a clean and healthy environment in line with the sustainable development goals Agenda (SDG Goal 3 Good Health and Well Beign ) and (SDG goal 13 Climate Action) (SDGS Goals 6 Clean water & Sanitation as well as SDG 14 life below water ) amongst others.
He disclosed that Rangers international Football Club Foundation holds issues around environment to high esteem as no meaningful activity can take place in an unfriendly environment.
“Our Educational and skill framework will be utilized for more skills and knowledge on recycling technology amongst young minds to help them understand dangers littering of cities and refuse dumps on Rivers,stream and ocean poses to mankind and environment, Reconnecting Nature to mankind in Partnership with cope and live mental health awareness foundation on student2student (S2S)initiative to deepen awareness on climate action which includes voluntary actions to reduce waste pollution and to preserve a clean and healthy environment.
“Our partnership with Cope and live mental health awareness foundation will help to deepen positive good conduct and moral rebirth in the way we litter our environment and dump wastes on river,stream and ocean thereby endangering aquatic existence and life.
“We are also in strong partnership with Campus Technology Life Initiatives to promote technological education and awareness amongst students ,community members especially on Waste 2 Resources technologies initiative anchored on prioritizing solutions for the environment in our mental health campaigns and also recycling technology.”
Amaraizu however advocated for more actions and increase in the awareness on littering of cities and waste pollution and to ensure that a clean and healthy environment is possible.
