Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, Imo State Chapter has sent her condolences to the management of the state-owned team, Heartland FC of Owerri and Imo State government on the fatal accident that claimed the live of Coach Christan Obi and got other players hospitalized.
In a statement by the Chairman of SWAN in Imo State, Mr Cosmos Chukwuemeka, the Association expressed their deepest condolences to the club and the State over the unfortunate accident.
The Association recalled Coach Obi’s contributions to the Naze Millionaires, both as a player and an official.
They prayed to God to grant his soul eternal rest and quick recovery to the injured players.
The Association called on the State government and the Police authority to investigate the cause of the accident to prevent reoccurrence.
