The auxiliary Bishop of Ahiara Diocese, Most Rev. Simeon Okezuo Nwobi has charged everyone in every Profession to join in uplifting Ahiara Diocese, so that it can reclaim its pride of place before the demise of its pioneer Bishop, late Rt. Rev. Victor Adibe Chikwe.
He was speaking to members of the Catholic Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria (CAMPAN), Ahiara Diocese who called on him at Ahiara Mbaise Catholic Secretariat on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.
“Our invitation is that all hands should be on deck to promote the cause of Ahiara. As Media Men and Women, promote the Diocese through your Profession.”
He stated, highlighting some of the activities, which the Diocese has embarked upon since his installation, which are all geared towards bringing back the Glory of the Diocese, adding that the Diocese would do its best to bring back the exuberance that was there before the creation of Ahiara Diocese, through the Media, which CAMPAN represents.
“It’s only through Prayers that we can succeed and we are doing it with a lot of Prayers. We engage Our Lady of Perpetual Help, the intercession, which is ended with Procession and holy Mass. We engage in Pastoral visits to encourage the people to treasure the Diocese, to enkindle the light to spark once more”.
Bishop Okezuo stated, and invited CAMPAN members to do their best so that the World will know that Ahiara Diocese is back to live and to stay, regretting that the Bishopric problem gave Mbaise a bad name but with God’s Grace the issue is over.
He thanked CAMPAN members for bringing Mbaise Diocese to the World because through the Media, nothing is hidden any longer, and blessed them and the work they did.
However, earlier presenting the cause of their visit, the President of CAMPAN Ahiara Diocese, Sir Ben Osuagwu traced the days of Bishop Okezuo’s Special Masses at the Claretian, which endeared him to many, and expressed gratitude to God for uplifting him to end the Ahiara Bishopric problem.
He highlighted some of the achievements of CAMPAN in the Diocese, as well as Short comings, and informed him of the National Convention of the Association coming up at Iseleukwu Delta State between April 15&18, 2024.
The highlight of the visit was the prayer said for the Bishop by CAMPAN members led by Sir Casmire Anyanwu before they received the blessings of the Bishop and a group photograph.
