Abia Comets FC Forward, Jonah James has solicited more support from their home supporters, ahead of its home clash against Lagos based club, Smart City FC, on Saturday, in a Matchday 15 Southern Conference A encounter.
The impressive and powerful forward, who scored the match winner in Comets’ 1-0 away victory at Dakkada FC last Saturday in Uyo has been in an impressive form this season for the Umuahia side.
He has bagged five goals in 14 league appearances in the club’s quest for a place in the race to secure NNL Super 8 playoff spot at the end of the season.
While speaking with Abia Comets media, shortly after the team training session on Friday, at the Umuahia Township Stadium, Jonah revealed that the team need more support for their fans ahead of the home clash on Saturday.
“Yes, it has been an impressive few months for us and it showed that the team is getting more stronger because everybody is working hard to improve and contribute,” he told Abia Comets media.
“So, we calls for more support for our dear fans as we put all focus in getting the maximum points against Smart City on Saturday. It is an important game for us, because we know what is at stake.”
The Kaduna-born forward further expressed that his hopes and determination is to keep on improving and helping the team to achieve its aim by the end of the season with his goals.
Victory for Comets on Saturday will also extend the historic unbeaten streak to ten games, which will push the Umuahia side to the top three position, in the Southern Conference Group A standing with hopes for a place in the Nigeria National League (NNL) Super Eight playoffs at the end of the season.
