The people of Ochia Autonomous Community in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area have taken their protest over the absence of Leadership and their Traditional Ruler, His Royal Highness Eze Ekwueme Ekwueme whom they accused of having abandoned his Stool for over two years and six months to Imo State House of Assembly (IMHA).

The leader of the Protest, Mazi Aloysius Ogboka, informed the Leadership of Imo State House of Assembly that their Traditional Ruler, HRH Eze Ekwueme absconded from his Stool and travelled outside the Country, specifically, United States of America for more than 30 months, and has remained there, without any clear reason.

He said the Traditional Ruler handed over to the Traditional Prime Minister, while at the same time, dishes out directives and orders to Oil Companies operating in their Community and takes all the Royalties, without bringing any Development to Ochia Autonomous Community, a situation that has created a big lacuna.

Mazi Aloysius Ogboka complained that their Traditional Ruler has remained incommunicado, yet, always seen on Social Media dancing and partying, pointing out that they have since forwarded the Videos of their Traditional Ruler dancing in America, which he posted on Facebook, to their Honorable Member in the State Assembly, demanding for his immediate replacement.

Responding, the Deputy Speaker, Chief Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu, who represented the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Chike Olemgbe alongside other Lawmakers, urged the people to remain calm, peaceful and law abiding.

He assured them that their Complaints would be looked into, and directed them to formally submit their Petition to the House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, so that appropriate action would be taken on the matter.

The Deputy Speaker assured them that their coming to the Assembly will not be in vain, because they have a reliable Honorable Member.

On his part, the Lawmaker representing Ohaji/Egbema State Constituency, Hon. Uzoma Francis Osuoha, urged his people to remain calm, adding that the issues raised would be looked into, and properly addressed by the State Legislature.

He assured them that he knows their pains, and appreciate them for coming the House of Assembly who would in turn look into the matter, and communicate the findings to His Excellency, the dutiful Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma.

Also present to receive the Protesters include; the member representing Ideator South State Constituency, Hon. Johnson Duru, the member representing Mbaitoli State Constituency, Hon. Innocent Ikpamezie, the member representing Owerri West State Constituency, Hon. Kanayo Onyemaechi, the member representing Oru-West State Constituency, Hon.
