Determined to Empower youths in Mbaise imo state a non -governmental organization christened Mbaise Policy Roundtable ( MPR) has embarked on scholarship programme for youths in the area On Digital Skills Training to enhance participation in the global economy.
Speaking during the 2024 Annual Global Summit Of the Organization at Chris VI Hotel in Mbaise ,the chairman of MPR ,Prof Edward Oparaoji noted that in the ever-evolving landscape of the global economy, the need for digital skills has become more apparent than ever before.
“Today , we embark on a journey to explore how we can empower the youths in our rural communities, equipping them with the tools and knowledge necessary to not only survive but thrive in the digital age.”
Prof Oparaoji said that MPR is a non-governmental organization, whose purpose is to liaise , partner and Collaborate with international entities, imo state government , private sector to produce and advance policies that will fast track Mbaise and imo state development.
In his speech the chairman of the occasion ,prof Joseph Ahaneku pointed out that MPR has recorded a huge success on the area of human empowerment , adding that last year empowerment was on Agriculture.
Prof Ahaneku urged the youths to take the digital skills training very serious in order to eradicate poverty in the area.
Also speaking the Auxiliary Bishop Of Ahiara Diocese , Most Rev Simon Okezuo Nwobi expressed the
willingness of Ahiara Diocese to partner with the Organization on the area of human empowerment.
The Catholic Bishop commended the organization for such a wonderful gesture and assured them his maximum corporation.
The Summit attracted some personalities in Mbaise like ,Prof Viola Onwuliri,Gen Lincoln Jack Ogunewe, Dr Law Osundu, Barrister Emma Njoku, Mr Roland Obom, Mr Desmond Obani,Very good; Prof Val Ekechukwu, Mr Sebastian EKeanyanwu, Dr Jude Iheoma, Mr Chijike Ndukwu, Mr Maxwell, Opara,Hon Uche Agumuo,Dr(Mrs) Tobechi Nnabugwu Nwachukwu and Mr Kennedy Onwunali etc.
