The Proprietress of White Label Schools, Mrs Uche Kennedy Ibe said the school is focused on catching the students at a young age in the area of sports, Wakawaka Sports Extra reports.
Speaking at the school sport competition organised for the students, Mrs Ibe noted that sports has a major role to play in the development process of young people.
She called on parents and guardians to encourage their children to engage in any sporting events for their growth and development.
She said: “I’m so delighted. It’s good to see children growing up and putting up fantastic displays. It’s amazing and they are doing very well. Back in the day we couldn’t do what they are doing now. It’s a very good one.
“The world recognises sports, not just academic. Sports has taken a major role in the development. It is better we catch them young. You can see that they played like professionals and played to win. That means they know the essence of sports even at this age.
“For us at White Label School, we are taking sports to the next level. We want every child in the school to concentrate in one aspect of sports. By this time next year, they will double their performance.
“That martial arts is great. We started that about two years now. The coach said if they continue like this in the next year, they will be at the highest ranking which is the black belt.
“The parents should find out their kids areas of interest in sports and allow them to build it up so that in the future, they will be proud of them.”
