The member representing Aboh Mbaise in the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Princewill Amuchie has assured the people that their mandate will never be hijacked again.
Recall that the last Assembly election in the local government led to a legal battle before Hon. Amuchie regained the people’s mandate at the Court of Appeal in Lagos.
The Oke Ovoro born-technocrat of international repute went time immemorial to recall his statement at the INEC office in Aboh Mbaise saying that “if there is God, Aboh Mbaise people, who came all out to vote for me will regain their mandate.”
This was achieved by the prayer and support of the people of Aboh Mbaise, especially the people of Nguru Uboma Block, who dissuaded from contesting against their son but came out to vote for him to the extent that his opponent lost at both opposites of his house at Eke Nguru.
Hon. Amuchie, who reclaimed his mandate after the APC candidate was declared winner of the March 18, 2023 election, drew wide condemnation with the way and manner the votes where hijacked in a military style at the INEC office at Aboh Mbaise.
Hon Eddie Obinna declared the winner the next day at Owerri as the motorcade moved from Mbaise road in Owerri with a brief stop over at Enyiogugu Mbaise, the palace of Eze Regina Amadi, Obo 1 of Obetiti Nguru Nwekwo, Ogwu Eke Nguru and finally Oke Ovoro.
He was received by a mammoth crowd who jubiliated that their mandate has been restored and prayed to God to grant him the spirit to lead the area to the promised land.
On his part, Eze Amadi urged him to work closely with the state government for the growth of the local government.
The Chairman of PDP in Aboh Mbaise, Hon. Kachi Amuchie said members of the party are excited about the turnaround of things in the case and thumbed up the judgement that restored the mandate of Hon Amuchie.
