Fr Eburuaja FC of Orlu has won the 2023 YSFON Champions League after a thrilling 10-9 victory over Emmanuel FC after a 90 minutes of goalless draw.
Wakawaka sports extra reports the Orlu based team who got to round 32 of the oldest football competition in the country the FA cup, where the lost to NPFL side Doma United ended the year with a silverware after coming close to winning the state FA final which they lost to Heartland FC.
The team proprietor and spiritual director of the boys scout of the the nation, Rev Fr Emmanuel Eburuaja, who was also honoured for his contribution to sports development in the state and nation said the final between the two teams from the volatile zone of the state said it gives him confidence that the youths of the zone have demonstrated their willingness to embrace sports and forge a new way of life for themselves after the area have been in the news for bad reasons for a long time.
He asked the political class and kind spirited philanthropists in the country to assist small clubs like Eburuaja FC, Emmanuel FC, Amanda FC, who have not given up in helping the youths to achieve their dreams through sports under a very serious condition they found themselves in the area.
