The Chief Operating Officer of the Nigeria National League, NNL, Emmanuel Adesanya has said the unbeaten run by Heartland FC in the just concluded season was not a fluke.
Speaking with Wakawaka Sports Extra, Adesanya showered encomiums on the Owerri-based side for the unprecedented feat to emerge champions of the 2022/2023 NNL season which was capped off with scintillating performances.
While urging them to be worthy ambassadors of the league in the top-flight division, he commended the new board of the NNL led by George Aluo.
“We must give it to Heartland who came unbeaten and its very unprecedented. They really proved whom they are. Their unbeaten run was not a fluke. It was a real thing.
“We pray that when they get to the bigger stage, they will be able to replicate what they did in the NNL because it’s not easy. Only 20 of them will be. We wish them well and keep the tempo and momentum and be good ambassadors while there.
“I just want to congratulate the new board led by George Aluo. A good foundation has been laid. You can only say forward is our way and we can never go back. He will bring his worth of experience into the NNL.”
