The Proprietor of City FC, Abuja Chidi Okonkwo, has tasked clubs in Nigeria to invest in the media.
Okonkwo, who is also the President of National League Club Owners and Managers Association, NALCOMA said this while addressing the press in Asaba during the just concluded 2022/2023 Nigeria National League, NNL Super 8 playoffs at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.
According to the City FC boss, Nigerian clubsides have done enough to maximise the benefits of showcasing their players to teeming fans and supporters through the media.
“We encourage the teams to work with the media. You don’t play football without the media. No media, no football.
“There is no way you can do anything football without the media. Look at City FC, just two-year-old and they came out in the Naija Super 8 which was done through voting.
“I encourage all the NNL clubs to invest more in media which is what I’m doing in City FC.”
Wakawaka Sports Extra reports that City FC participated in the qualifying series of the Naija Super 8 in Uyo, having garnered the highest number of votes during the nomination for teams in the North Central region of the country.
