..dreams of state of art stadium in Ezeagbogu Mbaise

Founder of Ikukuoma Mbaise Unity Cup, High Chief Dr. Summers Nwokie, said the foundation aims to spread the Ikukuoma Cup competition across the country.

Speaking with Wakawaka Sports Extra, the notable philanthropist noted that he is happy with the progress so far, which has yielded positive results in the community adding that it has been acknowledged by the Imo State FA as the best organised competition in the state.

He revealed that the newly renovated Ezeagbogu Mbaise Football Ground will be upgraded to a state-of-the-art facility to ensure talents are discovered.

“Actually, I’m really happy seeing the players, Mbaise indigenes. That football tournament has put a lot smiles on everybody’s faces. When we started it was like a joke, now we keep on progressing. What we have today is still in progress and what we see on the ground, the sky won’t only be the limit but the starting point. We are grateful.

“It’s for the safety of our players. The beauty of the game called football is suppose to have a nice place. In as much as we haven’t done what we want to, we have a place we can call our own. What we have there belongs to the community.

“We just renovated it for the community. I believe within a year time, we will have our own state-of-the-art stadium that belongs to Ikukuoma Football Club.

“Our dream is one day to have Ikukuoma Cup for the whole Nigerian league like the Carling Cup in England, even if it’s just a grassroots. The Imo FA has even testified that this is the biggest tournament in Imo State and well organised. When our dream is realised, build our stadium, that’s our dream, vision and mission. We will be there.”
