Presidential candidate for the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, Mr. Peter Obi, has reiterated his commitment of having a new Nigeria of our dream.
Obi, who was a Special Guest of Honour at the annual Mbaise Policy Roundtable Summit, said his mandate is to liberate the country from the brink of collapse.
Represented by Dr. Fabian Ihekweme, he noted that his administration will offer a brand of transformative and purposeful leadership that will be effective, less transactional, efficient and cost-effective.
Wakawaka Sports Extra reports that the Presidential hopeful pledged to promote equity in power and resource sharing, respect the principles of federal character, affirmative action and gender balance etc.
He therefore appealed to the electorates to seize the moment and opportunity being presented to them in 2023 to change the narrative and restore the dignity of Nigeria.
“We will offer a new brand of transformative and purposeful leadership. The overall goal of Obi-Datti administration shall be to streamline governance, make it more responsive, transformative, effective, less transactional and therefore efficient and cost-effective.
“We will rebuild Nigeria’s military power, promote economic growth and enhance its technological prowess with a view to improving Nigeria’s diplomatic influence in sub-regional, regional and global affairs.
“If you elect Datti and I, our government will promote equity in power and resource sharing. The federating units will enjoy discernible autonomy. Resources will be shared equitably. We will respect the principles of federal character, affirmative action and gender balance; but no longer at the expense of merit.”
