First Mahi FC bags Best Team Award at YSFON Event

…as Prince Onuoha reiterates commitment to develop football in Imo State

Owerri-based NLO side, First Mahi FC bagged the Best Behaved Team Award at the final of the YSFON Mock Champions League in Owerri, Imo State.

Speaking to Wakawaka Sports Extra, the Vice-Chairman of the club, Prince Chidiebere Eze Onuoha, said the award will motivate the team to do more by developing football in the state.

He decried the decadence in athletics and football in the state noting that it was the dream of the club to establish a football academy that is waxing strong in the NLO.

“I understand the award. First time Firstmahi is getting the Behaved Team and other awards for the Honourable. I feel very great and this is the only way we can develop football in Imo State.

“I hope the Honourable will be able to deliver the message to compulsory know that all pitches all over in Imo State where the kids play so that we can generate young boys that can play football and athletics.

“I understand that athletics is going down in Imo State. That is what gave First Mahi dream to come to Imo State to start the football academy. We are not doing bad.”

Prince Onuoha, who was accompanied by members of his family Mrs Onuoha and Princess Onuoha added “This year we played in the Division 1 which gives us joy. The boys and girls are doing good.”
