As the 2023 general election draws closer, the candidature of Mr, Anyanwu Alexander Ugochukwu continues to gain traction across the length and breadth of Isiala Mbano State Constituency.
This is in his bid to represent the Constituents at Imo State House of Assembly under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA in 2023.
The intending lawmaker while in an interactive session with newsmen in Owerri on Tuesday, 6th Dec., 2022 said his aspiration to represent the people was born out of desire to save lives of the downtrodden.
Anyanwu who hails from Umunkwo, Mbama clan in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area,of Imo state even as he realised that the position he is vying for is not an executive one, he pointed out that his legislative position would serve as the mouth piece of the people
The Computer Science graduate of National Open University, Abuja explained that the ugly situation in the country was his driving force to join politics.
According to him, “having followed Nigeria political activities for some years and as a young man who grew up in the village, has come to contribute his quotas towards the growth and development of his LGA.
“i looked it from the point that there are lots of people out there who are still in the same circumstances i found myself many years ago, at the age of fifteen or thereabout” he said.
He regretted that those who have been in the political positions had not justified the call.
He said: “After many years in my career as an employer of labour, i believe that i belong to the spirited individuals who can give back to the less privileged in the society, I have had my fair share of neglect in the society because I came from a poor background, though I was assisted but i got it as an employee but my growing up as a young was too emotional that I wouldn’t want to dwell much on.
“I have worked with couple of companies before setting up mine, I left Oil and Gas firm to establish Travel and Tours, Driving School and host of other companies”.
He therefore reiterated his commitment to ensure that there is fair and equal distribution of dividends of democracy to the three clans in Isiala Mbano State Constituency.
