Art is an exhibition of creative art and other installations as artists from Imo State and beyond will converge in Owerri, the Imo State capital to showcase their talents to the world.
The programme is being organised by Smate & Smate International in collaboration with the Friends of Imo Arts, Omenka ndi Imo, Owerri Sports Club, Imo State Council for Arts and Culture including other private partners like Ekwe Square, Inspire IT, Greater Imo Investment, Geldyn Events, Art For Health.
Also, sponsorship from Emzor Pharmaceuticals, Piql, CENN Foundation, Eberelinks, Old English Bar & Grills, Naturelle Water, Priceless Store, RHAS, Glory of God Schools and Art Unleashed among other Friends of Imo Arts members.
This initiative is geared towards promoting creativity in the sports sector as well making the creative art industry more popular and entertaining.
Addressing the media in Owerri the
Programme Manager of the nation leading act company Chukwuma Anurunkem, Smate & Smate, said the annual event, will introduce a new plaform for Imo artists to present their work to the art lovers and visitors, while promoting internal and external tourism.
The programme will feature an art exhibition, life drawing sessions, legend interaction, sports, music, dance performance, life style & food exhibition, raffle draws, competitions, health talk and free health check.
It’s also envisioned to be interactive, educational, enhance cultural awareness while we encourage citizens to fully participate in the programme as the benefits and social impact expected to be made, are enormous.
“We hope to develop and encourage greater public and cultural awareness of arts and artists in Imo state, more importantly help the citizens understand the Importance of art works and value to the economy and to build alliances across the continents on a diverse range of issue in relation to arts.
“We anticipate more endorsement, sponsorship and support from well meaning individuals, professionals and companies as we make case for artist to positively contribute to revenue drive, business and the society by getting the creative industry in Imo state to restructure and apply considerable effort to critical issue facing creative arts and artist across the state.
“Anyone can indeed be a “Friend” of Imo Arts from N5,000 annual membership. There are corporate and premium memberships available for those who want to become “Patrons” of Imo Arts.
“We also recognize the important role of the media in ensuring proper coverage and dissemination of information at the event hence we solicit for partnership and cooperation of the press during the 7 days exhibition of creative arts and Sports.” Anurunkem said.
Meanwhile, we will have football games to spice up the event. The matches are as follows; (Group A) 12 pm to 1pm CENN FA vs GOLDEN BOOT, 1pm to 2pm GOOD SOCCAR vs MARKANS while in (Group B) 2pm to 3pm MALICK PRO vs SUNROSE, 3pm to 4pm DE ESSENTIALS vs GLOBAL STARS.
