Campos FC of Owerri recorded her first clean sheet of the season as they cruise past Giant Brillars FC in a match day 9 fixture of the Nigerian National League played over the weekend.
Goals by Ogbuehi Nzubechi and Igwe Ikenna were enough to give the Owerri based side the comfortable victory.
Speaking after the game, skipper of the team, Peter Amadi dedicated the win to the fans and supporters of the club.
He stated that they will give their best in the next game by fighting till the very end.
“We gave our best because we needed the three points. We came out like a wounded lion for the game.
“We want to thank them for everything and support. I dedicate this victory to them. We will keep fighting till the last blast of the whistle.”
Similarly, Nnaemeka who is the skipper of Giant Brillars blamed the turf for the loss despite giving their best in the game.
He said: “It’s disappointing because we gave our best in the firsr half but the second half was so physical. We lost the second balls.
“In the league, we have been doing well but we hardly play well in away games because of the turf that keeps bouncing.”
Up Next for the Owerri based club is a trip to Lagos where they will trade tackles with Vandrezzer FC next weekend.
