Uyo Club Agog as ENIC Tennis Serves off

The Capital City of Akwa Ibom State Uyo will be Agog when the East of the Niger Inter Club Tennis League extravaganza train comes to town for the 2021/22 Finals.

The yearly gathering of Tennis clubs in the East of the Niger, will bring together the best of Club Tennis on the eastern side of the River Niger to the beautiful city of Uyo, Akwa Ibom.

The Super Four extravaganza will hold from Thursday, 31st March 2022 through Saturday, 2nd April 2022 with four qualified teams competing for honours after emerging from their groups and quarter final games during the Tennis League Season

A statement by the ENIC management led by Dr Austin Uzodike, says that defending champions, Recreation Club Orlu will take on host Uyo Club, while Nnewi Sports Club and Aba Sports Club will take to the Center Court to determine the team that will qualify for the finals.

Other activities billed to light up the event is a welcome reception by the host, Uyo club as well as a Stakeholders Meeting/Awards Night.

ENIC which is now the oldest Club Tennis Sports League still operating in the history of Nigeria was formed by Chief Austin Agbaji and Emeka Azie at the Aba sports club in 1999 for the purpose of being a uniting body for tennis Clubs in the South East and South South. The current super finals format involving the four clubs was a brainchild of Dr Kachi Nwoga and was midwived and delivered by the pioneer LOC led by our indefatigable Trustee Emeka Azie as chairman, Charles Duruaku as member and CC Udechukwu as secretary, under the tenure of Chief kingsley Udu as Chairman of ENIC.
The local organizing committee led by the captain of Uyo Club,Dr Anietie Ekong invites Club Presidents, Trustees, Patrons, Fellows, all ENIC Registered Clubs and lovers of the game of Tennis to be part of the this year’s sports fiesta.
