The Vice Chancellor of Imo State University, Prof. Uchefula Ugonna Chukwumaeze has identified cultism as the greatest problems bedevilling universities in Nigeria.
The VC made the revelation when he received members of POCACOV in his office on Friday on a courtesy visit.
He said that if the problems of cultism is completely eradicated in the universities, it will offer institutions opportunity to pursue their aims and visions.
The VC exnorated the Imo State University as one of the universities in the country that has minimal cultism attributing the reasons to absence of thick green bushes arround the University.
He said unlike other tertiary Institutions across the country that are sorrounded by tick green bushes that shields the cultist, IMSU has internal security network that are equal to their task in temming down cultism activities in the campus.
He said: ” in Imo State University, we do not have any bush arround us where cultist can hid themselves”.
The Vice Chancellor expressed his appreciation on the vision.of POCACOV while appealing to them to es enlighten people on the work of POCACOV in the*Cultism greatest problems of Universities– IMSU VC.*

The VC made the revelation when he received Team Members of police campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices ( POCACOV) in his office on Friday 25/3/2022 on a courtesy visit.He appreciated the Nigeria police Force on POCACOV initiative which he described as addressing problem solving from it’s root cause .
He said that if the problems of cultism is completely eradicated in the universities, it will offer institutions opportunity to pursue their aims and visions.He however expressed happiness with the visit of POCACOV In My School Team and assured of the institutions support and partnership to enhance Participations for problem solving.
The VC however maintained that Imo State University is one of the universities in the country that has minimal cultism incidences attributing the reasons to absence of thick green bushes around the University.

Earlier in his speech the Imo State Chairman POCACOV Volunteer Club(PVC), Comrade Kennedy Onwunali congratulated the Vice Chancellor on his appointment as the VC,
Enumerated the aims behind the setting up POCACOV,which is mainly to serve as NPF community policing initiative and a public relations tool helping in the areas of Mobilization,Participation,partnership and problem solving through non kinetic strategy in addressing issues of cultism and other social vices prevalent amongst youth .
He however enumerated plans by POCACOV to hold a program in the state that will aid in mobilizing relevant stakeholders and multi Agencies for partnership and support as well as enhancing their participation for problem solving and for a safe ,secured and peaceful communities.
