The vice Chancellor of Coal City University Enugu,Professor Afam Ituma has joined the police campaign Against Cultism and other vices (Pocacov ) as stakehokder in it’s ongoing Nationwide campaign against Cultism substance and drug abuse, violent behaviours,bullying and other vices and commending the Nigeria police force on the community policing initiative which is working with different stakeholders and multi Agencies and galvanizing their support as well as enhancing their Participations towards problem solving .
The ViceChancellor made the commendation on 15/12/2021 when the National coordinator Pocacov CSP Ebere Amaraizu in company of other Pocacov Team members on the Pocacov in my school campaign activity which took place at the school Auditorium and organized to sensitize students on dangers of Cultism and other vices amongst young minds .He further noted that evolving a community driven program of this nature by the Nigeria police force to work with different stakeholders and multi agencies ,is a right step from right direction and the best option and approach from it’s root and cutting the supply chains and conveyor belts.He however commended the efforts of the National coordinator and his team on school and community visitations to reorient young minds for a better society .Earlier ,the National coordinator Pocacov CSP Ebere Amaraizu had informed him what Pocacov represent as well as it’s approach and modalities as Nigeria police Force community policing initiative .He intimated the vice Chancellor on some of Pocacov activities such as Pocacov in my family geared towards reinventing the role of parents ,guardians and caregivers on the moral upbringing of a child giving to the fact that the home is the immediate environment of a child .He also spoke and emphasized on Pocacov in my community activity and Pocacov in my school activity amongst other structured community driven activities for a safe ,peaceful and secured communities.Highlight of the visit was the unveiling of the vice Chancellor as a Pocacov stakeholder .The National coordinator Pocacov later proceeded to the school Auditorium where he engaged the students on the need to be purposeful and focused and avoiding negative tendencies capable of truncating their academic ambition or their dreams as future champions .He emphasized on the consequences of Cultism , substance and drug abuse , violent behaviours,sexual and gender based violence and other vices and further advised them to always resist temptations to lure them into Cultism and other vices as the future belong to those who know the beauty of it .
There were questions and answers sessions and thereafter,the inauguration of Pocacov in my school volunteer club members of coal city University chapter for safer school and community and sustenance of the Pocacov campaign .
