NYSC jubilates as camp commandant in Imo bags promotion

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Imo has celebrated the promotion of camp commandant, Augustine Etta to the rank of Major by the Nigerian Army.

This is contained in a release by the NYSC public relations officer in Imo, Mr Ugochukwu Orunta made available to newsmen in Owerri on Sunday.

According to the release, the management of the scheme rolled out the drums on Saturday to celebrate the camp commandant’s latest achievement.

The state coordinator, Mr Jimba Chris while congratulating Etfa described the promotion as well deserved considering his sterling qualities and dedication to duty at the NYSC and to the nation at large.

He said the elevation could not have come at a better time adding that it would help to cement the relationship between the scheme, the Nigerian Army and other collaborating agencies.

” On this day, we celebrate with our dear camp commandant who has added more feathers to his professional achievements.

” This is a call to more service and will further help to sustain the existing relationship between the scheme, the Army and other collaborating agencies “, he said.

He urged corps members to be at ease and feel free to explore the opportunities available in the state by staying back after their year of national service.

Responding, Etta thanked the NYSC for celebrating his big moment and pledged continued dedication to service in line with his constitutional mandate.

He urged personnel of collaborating security agencies to go the extra mile and discharge their duties creditably.
