The Board Of Trustees ( BOT) of the Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria ( PFAN) led by its Chairman Prince Harrison Jalla, held it’s inaugural Meeting via online on Thursday 14th October 2021 by 7.00 PM to deliberate on the recent moves by some members of PFAN to set up rival Union and also address issues which bothers on the Administration and governance of the union.
At the end of the meeting the following decisions were arrived at
1 The BOT condemned in strong terms the anti union activities of some members of PFAN masterminded by Chikelue Ileonyosi to form a rival body named All Nigeria Players Union and advised the group to re-trace their steps and not allow themselves to be used by external forces to destabilize the Unity and peace that has been achieved by Nigeria Players under PFAN
2 The BOT expressed unconfined confidence on members of the Executive Board of PFAN led by Nigeria ex International Tijani Babangida (Mon) and commended them for being resolute in defending the work and decisions of the PFAN Task Force inspite of immense pressure mounted on them to denounce the work and decisions of the PFAN Task Force centered on the call for the Amendment of the NFF Statutes on recompositing of the Congress and Executive Board of the NFF to reflect equal representation of the five Direct members of the NFF in line with art 10.1 of the NFF Statutes
3 The BOT expressed absolute and unreserved confidence and trust on the members of the PFAN Task Force and commend them for the outcome of its activities in trying to fashion out the best possible way in ensuring that Nigeria Football regain it’s lost glory through structural changes built on the foundation of fairness justice and equity to all major stakeholders and especially the players constituency
4 The BOT has mandated some members of its board to reach out and engage members of the newly formed union for discussion geared towards bringing them back to PFAN.
5 As part of the way forward to restore peace and unity amongst members of our great Union, the BOT has mandated the Secretary of the BOT to Convey a joint Zoom Meeting of the BOT, the Executive, with special emphasis on the zonal commissioners, and some selected members of the union that can add value to the meeting who does not Fall within the above mentioned categories within the next 14 days. The exact date, Venue and time of the meeting will be communicated as as possible
