Chief Nwachukwu recalls good old days of Enugu Rangers, gives reasons for sudden downfall

Imo State Elder State Man Chief CC Nwachukwu revealed the incident which led to the gradual demise of Rangers International football club of Enugu and also disclosed his deep involvement and support for the club.

Cheif Nwachukwu made this disclosure in an exclusive interview with Wakawaka sports extra last June.

According to the over 90 years old high Chief of Nguru Nwakwo Autonomous Community
in Aboh Mbaise local government area of Imo State who is a newspaper outlet magnet, he buried his heart in the team because he has been watching Rangers from his youth age and follows update every weekend till date to get the latest scores of their exploit in the NPFL league matches.

According to him they maintained an initial winning culture but all of a sudden the winning structure began to drop as they started recording loses.

He further gave reasons for their sudden decline in performance which he attributed to the attack the team got on their way to a league match which resulted to the death of their best player as at then.

Chief Nwachukwu recalled that the demised player has really gone a long way with the club, the team as well is well known all over and the football world placed them on a high standard

He said 3SC of Ibadan and Bendel insurance are the only teams competing with the flaying antelope in the 70ths, he recalled how Rangers defeated 3SC to snatch the Africa Winners cup and said the competition between the two power House of Nigeria football can’t be forgotten in a hurry.

Cheif Nwachukwu further wished 3SC and Bendel insurance to return back in his life time so he can witness them play again in the Nigeria football scene.

Nze Nwachukwu advised Enugu Rangers team coaches to always feature the best players in the team no matter were they are from and for the team to return back to winning ways as the team means a lot to the nation and the people of the South-East.
