The executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has stated that he didn’t select the APC local government candidates who are standing for the local government election in the state . He revealed this while fielding questions from news men in his country home at Oferekpe , Izzi local government area.
Governor Nwifuru after casting his vote for the candidate of his choice in his polling unit also harps on the seamless nature of the process “It is the will of the people, you don’t need security when people are choosing candidates in an election. I did not select the candidates, it’s the people who selected them; while other political parties also selected their candidates”
The Ebonyi State Governor who was full of optimism that the candidates of his party of the All Progressives Congress were going to emerge victorious noted the peaceful nature of the local government exercise “The process is ongoing. It is not a war, it’s an election. That is why we don’t need to stress ourselves over voting for the candidate of our choice to become our leader. My wish is for our party to win. I am a party man and believe in my party and all of its candidates ”
Though the Governor wished for all of the candidates of his party to win but refuses to downplay the same optimistic mindset of other parties adding that even though his candidates have all it takes to win other people also have their own wishes.
