The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development, Hon. Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka, says the Super Eagles are fully prepared to fight for the maximum three points when they face Madagascar in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers today at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo.
Adeyinka, who watched the Super Eagles’ final training session ahead of the crucial encounter, said he was impressed by the performance of the players and the technical team.
Speaking to Faks Media, the renowned football administrator said the team’s preparations had given him confidence that the players were ready for the challenge.
“I have watched the training, and with what I saw and the way the coach is working with the boys, I can assure you that these guys are ready.
“You know this is the first game after the last AFCON, so there is a lot at stake. The players know what is expected of them, and I believe they are ready to go for the three points.
Speaking on the technical qualities of Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle, Adeyinka described the Franco-Malian tactician as a “fantastic coach,” noting that the team has developed a recognisable playing pattern under his leadership.
Eric Chelle is a fantastic coach. Beyond the results, you can see that the present Super Eagles have a pattern. That is the characteristic of a good coach,” he concluded.
