The Umuorie in Naze Community in Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State has honoured their illustrouse son and the former Super Eagle Captain Henry Nwosu for his outstanding contributions to the development of his community.
The community have in the past honoured Nwosu and former international player in different occasions in appreciation to his selfless assistance to the development of the community.
Receiving the award during the ceremony held recently, the sports legend, Henry Nwosu thanked members of his community for the honour done to him which is according to in recorgnition of his contributions to the community.
The former Captain of ACB Fc, Lagos, said that he had in the past been honoured by the entire Naze communiy because of his little help to the community.
He said that he donated the ongoing Henry Nwosu Unity Football Competition for the community which started since 1985.
Nwosu said that the football tournament was the first competition played in Owerri by any youths organization.
While expressing his joy for the award, Nwosu said that he has equally give little help to widows and indigent persons in his community.
He called on the well to do individuals to emulate his step.by rendering assistance to widows and less privileged in the society no matter how little.
Nwosu such help would go a long way in assisting them in various ways to uplife their lives.
