FMMP Honours Eze Reginald Amadi, Kachi Nwoga, Oguwike Nwachuku, Others

… Pre-Iriji Mbaise Lecture, Ezenwa Adiuku’s NUJ Vice Presidency Welcome Celebration Holds Thursday

The Federation of Mbaise Media Professionals (FMMP) will on Thursday, August 13, 2026, honour distinguished sons and daughters of Mbaise for their contributions to the growth of the media, culture, education and community development.

The event, scheduled for Chris VI Hotel, Ahiara, Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, will also feature the 2026 Pre-Iriji Mbaise Lecture and Welcome Celebration for Chief Ezenwa Adiuku, the first indigene of Imo State to attain the position of Vice President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

Among the prominent personalities expected to be honoured are HRH Eze Reginald Anuoti Amadi, Ezeji Dr. Kachi Nwoga and Mr. Oguwike Nwachuku, alongside other distinguished personalities.

Eze Reginald Amadi, the Obo 1 of Obetiti Autonomous Community in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area and publisher of Lagos Eagle Newspaper, is expected to be recognised for his distinguished contributions to youth empowerment, media development and community growth.

Amadi has consistently supported the training and development of young Mbaise indigenes in journalism and media practice, helping to create opportunities for a new generation of media professionals. He has also used his position as a traditional ruler to promote peace, unity and sustainable development in Imo State, particularly within his community.

Also to be honoured is Ezeji Dr. Kachi Nwoga, former governorship candidate in Imo State and former Chairman of Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area.

Nwoga has, over the years, remained committed to the promotion of Mbaise culture, education and community development. He is also the Coordinator of the 2026 Ezeji Mbaise Cultural Festival and has maintained a cordial relationship with media practitioners at both the state and national levels.

Another prominent recipient is Mr. Oguwike Nwachuku, Chief Press Secretary to Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma.

Nwachuku is a seasoned media executive, public relations strategist and former General Editor of Daily Independent newspaper. His experience in journalism, strategic communication and public relations has made him a notable figure in the media industry among them also is Mr Boniface Nwagu

According to FMMP, the honourees were carefully selected based on their exceptional leadership, professional accomplishments, service to humanity and contributions to the growth and development of Mbaise Nation.

The programme is expected to attract traditional rulers, political leaders, media executives, professionals, academics, community leaders and other stakeholders from within and outside Imo State.

The Chairman of the NUJ Imo State Council, Comrade Ifeanyi Nwanguma, JP, is expected to attend as the host of the event.
FMMP has urged all well-meaning sons and daughters of Mbaise, media practitioners, stakeholders and friends of the nation to attend the programme and join in celebrating the distinguished personalities.

The event is expected to combine intellectual discourse, cultural celebration, recognition of excellence and networking, while providing another platform for promoting unity, peace and development in Mbaise Nation.
