Heartland Queens will on Saturday, July 11, 2026, seek to crown a historic campaign when they face Nasarawa Amazons in the final of the 2026 Federation Cup at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, Delta State.
The Imo State-based female football club made history by becoming the first team from the South East to qualify for the female Federation Cup final, a feat that has attracted commendation from football stakeholders and supporters across the region.
The achievement has sparked excitement among Imolites, who have been urged to rally behind the team as they chase a historic trophy on the national stage.
Imo State Commissioner for Sports, Hon. Obinna Onyeocha, congratulated Heartland Queens on their impressive journey, describing the qualification as a landmark achievement for women’s football in Imo State and the South East.
Onyeocha praised the players, coaches, management, and supporters of the club for their commitment and resilience, saying the team’s success reflects the growing development of female football in the state.
I congratulate Heartland Queens for this remarkable achievement. This is a proud moment for Imo State and the entire South East, as the team has created history by reaching the Federation Cup final.
I call on all Imolites to give the team their full support as they represent our state in Asaba. This achievement will inspire more young girls to embrace football and believe in their dreams,” the commissioner stated.
Heartland Queens will now hope to complete their historic run with victory over Nasarawa Amazons and bring the Federation Cup title to Imo State.
