Oparaoji, Onwuliri Made a Very Productive Solidarity Visit to Incoming FUTO Vice Chancellor, Prof INS Dozie

In a significant show of support and collaboration, Her Excellency Prof. Viola Onwuliri, a two-time Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, alongside Prof. Eddie Oparaoji, Chairman of the Mbaise Policy Roundtable (MPR), and Hon. Chris Uche Agomuo, paid a solidarity visit to the incoming Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), and die-hard Arsenal FC fan, Prof. INS Dozie and Wife Dr Nonso Dozie.

This visit underscored their commitment to the university’s mission and served as a platform for prayer and encouragement, aiming to bolster Prof. Dozie as he prepares to take on his new role. During the meeting, Prof. Dozie expressed his dedication to fostering academic excellence and collaboration among diverse stakeholders, while navigating the challenges faced in higher education.

The leaders emphasized the importance of strong advocacy and support to enhance the university’s impact on the community. They discussed strategies to create a conducive environment for academic excellence and growth by aligning the university’s curriculum with industry needs, fostering inclusivity, and emphasizing holistic student development. Their goal is to produce work-ready graduates by focusing on employability and delivering measurable outcomes.

As the largest federal institution in Imo State and arguably the second-largest employer in the state after the state government, FUTO plays a pivotal role in community development. The visit highlighted a collective commitment to addressing critical issues such as admissions, academic support, infrastructure development, and future employment opportunities for graduates.
