High Chief, Pharm. Anthony Ogbuja, an Mbaise-born professional and businessman, has been inducted into the Nguru Political Forum in what observers described as a strategic boost to the group’s political mobilisation drive ahead of future contests in Imo State.
The induction took place on the sidelines of the Ituaka Nguru ceremony held last Saturday at the Nguru Centre, Ekeoha, where members unanimously endorsed his membership.
President of the forum, Hon. Kachi Amuchie, while presenting Anthony Ogbuja to the gathering, said his entry into the political platform would add value to the collective aspiration of the clan, particularly in its advocacy for the emergence of a governor of Owerri Zone extraction.
Amuchie noted that the forum remains resolute in its pursuit of equity and fair political representation, stressing that the inclusion of accomplished professionals and entrepreneurs would further strengthen its engagement strategy.
Anthony Ogbuja, a Lagos-based pharmacist and hospitality expert, was described as an industrious son of Nguru with a track record of humanitarian service and community support initiatives.
In his remark, the new member thanked the leadership and members of the forum for the confidence reposed in him, pledging his commitment to the forum’s objectives and readiness to contribute meaningfully to its programmes.
Political watchers say the move signals renewed efforts within Nguru to consolidate elite support as consultations intensify around the push for Owerri Zone governorship in the state’s power rotation discourse.
His induction followed a high recommendation by the President of Nguru Development Union, Dr. A.C. Odunze.
