The tourism sector in Mbaise received a significant boost yesterday with the grand opening of Hotel Suites and Lodge Umuezie Nguru, located in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State. The facility, strategically positioned with access to major roads, including Owerri-Mbaise and Umuahia Road, was officially inaugurated in a ceremony graced by notable dignitaries and led by the traditional ruler of Umuezie Nguru, His Royal Highness, Eze Charles Eregu and Okenze Ephraim Opara.
The opening ceremony highlighted the entrepreneurial vision of Queen Anne Ugochukwu, the hotel’s CEO, who described the establishment as a haven for relaxation, entertainment, and community engagement. Speaking during the event, Eze Charles Eregu commended the project as a vital addition to the socio-economic landscape of the community, emphasizing its potential to attract visitors and foster local development.
Situated in a serene and accessible location, the hotel boasts state-of-the-art facilities designed to provide a “home away from home” experience for guests, particularly those returning for festive seasons or family reunions. The event witnessed a turnout of society’s crème de la crème, who celebrated the addition of the hotel to Mbaise’s growing tourism ecosystem. The Silvernews crew, alongside other guests, were treated to guided tours of the facility led by the hotel’s general manager, Mr. Alex Njoku. During the tour, Mr. Njoku highlighted the hotel’s modern amenities, community-centric features, and its pocket-friendly pricing, emphasizing its accessibility to a wide range of guests.
With its official launch, Hotel Suites and Lodge Umuezie Nguru is poised to become a landmark destination for leisure, business, and social gatherings in the region, further solidifying Mbaise’s position on the tourism map of Nigeria. Various entertainment groups, including the Ohafia war dancers and performances by Prime Secondary School students, entertained the visitors, alongside appearances by the Mbaise All-Stars at the event.
